Medical Record SpecialistCommunity Healthcare Network is seeking for a Medical Record Specialist (MRS) who will be responsible for processing all release of information (ROI), specifically medical record requests in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service.Job Function:Reviews the release of requested medical records and ensures that the process is HIPAA compliant and timelyMaintains and protects sensitive and private information by keeping patient records confidential in accordance with ambulatory care, The Joint Commission, HIPAA, local, state, and federal laws and regulationsInvestigates possible violations of HIPAA policies and procedures and reports to Associate Director, Medical RecordsReceives and processes requests for patient health information in accordance with company and facility policies and proceduresStandardizes all records that are contained in the medical record in collaboration with medical and administrative staffDocuments all medical records request by creating telephone encounters in CHN's Electronic Medical Record system electronic medical records system, eClinicalWorks ("eCW") and assigns to appropriate staffResponds to requests for patient records both internally and externally via phone, email, and fax.Maintains working knowledge of company and facility softwareMonitors third-party vendor software and processes.Responsible for scanning and uploading records to eCW.Engages in ongoing training, education, and professional activities to enhance knowledge, skills, and professionalism.Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and/or fluctuating volumes.Performs other related duties as assigned.What We Look For:High School Diploma or GED.Bilingual Spanish is a preferred.
