Looking for a team member who has excellent customer service skills and attention to detail for cashiering duties. Previous cashiering experience is a plus.

The Cashier team members are responsible for a positive sales floor customer experience. The team member in this position will utilize our customer service guidelines during the entire sales process, from entering the store, providing product information, performing cashier functions and ensuring the customer leaves our store satisfied.

Education & Experience: A HS diploma or GED is preferred. 1 to 2 years of cashier/sales experience is preferred with knowledge of hardware and lumber an added preference.

Schedule: This is a full-time schedule with benefits available. Approximately 30-40 hours per week.

Essential Job Functions/Skills:

1. Provide excellent customer service.

2. Cashiers must qualify in knowledge of cash register functions. This includes beginning drawer through end of shift accountability and cash handling skills. Cashiers may cross train in hardware functions to become more valuable employees.

3. Must have excellent communication skills with the customer and team members.

4. Must be willing and able to learn more product information and be able to locate product within the store.

5. Must be willing to answer the phone as instructed and help the customer on the phone as needed.

6. Must show initiative and willingness to ensure store cleanliness, stock product as needed, perform receiving/ordering duties and perform other duties, projects or tasks when asked or needed.

Work Environment: Majority of the work is inside the store which is heated and air conditioned with occasional work requirement to be in the receiving room area which is heated but exposed to outside temperature variations.

Physical Requirements: Degree: Light work-lifting 20 pounds frequently and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Person must use hands for repetitive use such as using the cash register, computer and calculators 75-80% of the time. Typical requirements in an 8-hour day: Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours, frequently bend, stoop, squat 31-80% of the time.
