Senior AI/ML Engineer [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior AI/ML Engineer based in the United States.

This is a senior technical leadership role at the forefront of AI-driven cybersecurity innovation, focused on building next-generation detection, investigation, and autonomous response systems. You will design and productionize large-scale AI and machine learning systems that operate on massive volumes of security data, helping defenders identify and respond to threats in real time. The role combines deep engineering ownership with architectural responsibility across AI pipelines, reasoning engines, and distributed systems. You will work on cutting-edge applications of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-agent systems applied to real-world cyber defense challenges. The environment is fast-moving, highly technical, and mission-driven, with strong emphasis on experimentation, reliability, and production-grade performance. You will collaborate closely with product, detection engineering, and customer-facing teams while helping define technical direction and engineering best practices.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of core AI/ML systems powering detection, investigation, and automated remediation workflows in a high-scale cybersecurity environment.
• Build and productionize AI layers including LLM-based systems, RAG pipelines, graph-based reasoning engines, and streaming data pipelines operating on large-scale security event data.
• Own evaluation frameworks and system reliability, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning strategies, latency optimization, red-teaming, and fallback mechanisms.
• Design and implement agentic and multi-agent systems, integrating tool-calling, orchestration frameworks, and complex reasoning workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Detection Engineering, and Customer Success to translate real-world threats into scalable ML and detection systems.
• Experiment with advanced AI techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation, multi-modal models, and autonomous security agents.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, contributing to architectural reviews and engineering best practices.
• Drive end-to-end execution of complex technical initiatives, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and high-quality production outcomes.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with strong focus on production-grade systems using Python, Go, Rust, Java, or similar languages.
• Deep experience designing and building AI/ML systems, including LLM-based applications, agentic systems, or large-scale ML pipelines.
• Strong understanding of multi-agent system architectures and reasoning frameworks.
• Experience with graph-based systems, graph databases, and their application in complex data relationships.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, or custom agent frameworks).
• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven architectures.
• Solid API design skills (REST/gRPC) and understanding of scalable system architecture.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and drive technical consensus in ambiguous environments.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on production reliability and performance.
