Staff+ Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead broad-scope initiatives to eliminate classes of vulnerabilities from Verkada’s software and infrastructure.
• Build tools, libraries, automation, and frameworks that help software engineers implement security correctly.
• Leverage AI to automate security engineering practices.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to define and execute security goals, priorities, and processes.
• Work with the CISO and security team to expand Verkada’s security and privacy programs.
• Share security expertise through conferences, presentations, blogs, and open source.
• Write code every day across a variety of technology stacks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of experience as a software engineer who has worked on security problems.
• Interest in security weaknesses, attacks, and mitigations, including the ability to break things.
• Experience leveraging AI while building software.
• Excellent collaboration skills and outstanding written and verbal communication.
• Master’s or PhD in security is a bonus.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
