Registered Respiratory Therapist

Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, and emphysema Conduct pulmonary function screenings and comprehensive pulmonary function tests using spirometry equipment Provide patient instructions for pulmonary function tests Educate patients on respiratory equipment, inhalers, nebulizers, and medications such as albuterol Administer albuterol after pulmonary function examinations Perform pre- and post-pulmonary function testing and other diagnostic evaluations Monitor patient progress, equipment functionality, and patient comfort Adjust therapies as necessary Communicate with pulmonologists and healthcare team members Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow patient safety protocols Requirements Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Experience performing spirometry testing Must be available on occasional weekdays Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications Strong communication and patient care skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team Attention to detail and strong organizational skills NBRC certification and/or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) certification preferred AARC Office Spirometry Certificate accepted Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in assessing and treating patients with respiratory conditions, conducting pulmonary function tests, and educating patients on respiratory equipment and medications.
