Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, cranes and hydraulic equipment and related systems. This role involves working with a variety of heavy equipment, including hydraulic ladders, bucket trucks, cranes, and small engine repair. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all vehicles and equipment.

Duties

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines.
• Conduct routine maintenance on various types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers and heavy equipment.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and assembly tasks.
• Troubleshoot issues related to air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and transmissions.
• Read and interpret schematics to understand electrical systems and mechanical components.
• Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely while performing maintenance tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety standards are met.
• Repair and maintain various aerial equipment including cranes, baskets and hydraulic ladders and scissor lifts.

What We’re Looking For:

· Training/certifications in mechanics OR 10+ years of proven experience.

· Strong knowledge of IC engines, hydraulics, electrical, and A/C systems.

· Your own basic/common tools.

· Self-motivated, well-organized, and dependable.

· Ability to lift heavy objects as required for various repair tasks.

· Experience with fabrication techniques is a plus.

· Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics.

Ability to work alone and with a team. This is a one man department and great for experienced independent workers. Direct interaction with management and a great team.
