About us

TORC is an independent small dealership in Nixa (just south of Springfield) specializing in Japanese-brand vehicles — Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, and Mitsubishi. From Tacomas and 4Runners to Accords, Civics, WRXs, and everything in between. We're not a buy-here-pay-here lot moving beat-up trade-ins. We hand-pick clean, sought-after units and put them through a real reconditioning process before they hit the front line. We're building out our in-house recon operation and need sharp techs who take pride in the work.

The role

This is per diem / as-needed work — you come in when we have inventory to turn, on a schedule we coordinate ahead of time. It's a great fit if you're a dealer or shop tech looking for extra hours, a semi-retired wrench who still likes to turn bolts, or a mobile/independent tech who wants steady side volume. As our unit count grows, so do the hours available. You'll be getting quality used vehicles frontline-ready, not chasing warranty gravy work.

What you'll do

• Multi-point inspections on incoming inventory and honest condition documentation
• Recon service: brakes, fluids, filters, belts, tires, batteries, cooling, and general maintenance
• Diagnose and address check-engine, driveability, and minor mechanical issues
• Flag anything that needs a specialist or shouldn't be sold as-is
• Get units safe, and dialed in for the front line

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of automotive repair experience (dealer, independent shop, or fleet)
• Your own hand tools and diagnostic basics
• Reliable transportation to our Nixa shop
• Straight-shooter mentality — we sell on condition and honesty, so we need techs who report what they actually find
• Comfort across Japanese makes (Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi) is a big plus
• ASE certification(s) a plus
• Missouri state inspection license a plus (not required)

Pay

$28–$36/hour depending on experience, certifications, and tooling. We pay for skill — bring more to the table and it shows up in your rate.

4-hour call-out minimum: any time we call you in, you're guaranteed at least 4 hours of pay, even if the day's work runs short. Your time out here is respected.
