Casting Laborer (Level C) 2nd Shift

Casting Laborer (Level C) – Montgomery, Illinois

Our customer in Montgomery, Illinois is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join their foundry team. We’re recruiting 2nd Shift Casting Laborers to work full-time. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are mechanically inclined, ready to learn, and want to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Training is provided!

Responsibilities of the Casting Laborer:

• Perform assigned duties to arrange less complex furnished molds and pour furnished metal from a ladle.
• Assist with vacuum systems and other casting equipment under supervision.
• Follow demonstrations and verbal/written instructions to coat and assemble simple molds.
• Assist experienced casters and check melt temperature, skim, and pour specific metal amounts into molds.
• Operate die opening machines to remove and check parts.
• Clean crucibles and furnaces as needed.
• May operate a power truck and assist in handling larger cast parts with team members.
• Record process data, report any material discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or unusual operating conditions.
• Keep work area organized and clean.
• Use die opening machines, hoists, ladles, scrapers, casting tools, pliers, and other foundry equipment.

Casting Laborer Requirements and Qualifications:

• No experience required—willing to train!
• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical labor.
• Must wear steel-toed shoes/boots.
• Ability to work 10–12 hour shifts, including some Saturdays (3 out of 4 per month).
• Reliable transportation and good attendance are a must.

Pay for Casting Laborer:

$20.00/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday (plus up to 3 Saturdays/month) from 2:30PM – 12:00AM (may work up to 12-hour shifts)
