Controller

Controller Position

A growing manufacturer near Pinehurst, NC is bringing on a Controller to be the top finance leader at the site — a wide-ranging, roll-up-your-sleeves role responsible for it all, from monthly close and payroll to coordinating audits spanning several legal entities.

The Overview

Located only a short drive from Pinehurst, NC, this expanding manufacturing business runs under several distinct legal entities. They're looking to bring aboard a Controller who will act as the site's most senior financial leader. Expect a hands-on, wide-reaching mandate that spans the monthly close, payroll processing, and the coordination of external audits.

The Role

Think full-scope controllership rather than a tightly scoped accounting manager seat. Across a group of companies, the person hired will take ownership of GAAP reporting, cost accounting, inventory, payables and receivables, cash management, payroll, external audits, tax coordination, plus banking and insurance. A team of accounting staff reports in to be led and developed. Decision support is a real part of the job — the financial analysis and business insights this role produces flow straight to operations leadership.

In Our Words

This is a lean, expanding manufacturer where the Controller truly serves as the financial voice for the entire business. If you're after broad ownership and high visibility, minus the layers of corporate red tape, this setting should fit you well. Managing across multiple entities introduces genuine complexity that you rarely see in a single-entity role of comparable scale.

The Culture

They call it a "Work Hard – Play Hard" atmosphere — as much a reflection of the Pinehurst locale as of how the team operates. With a focus on visible impact and leadership that carries real weight, the picture points to a flat organization where the Controller works hand-in-hand with senior operations and ownership.

Systems & ERP

ERP: Fourth Shift is preferred, though it isn't a strict must-have. Payroll runs on ADP Workforce Now. You'll also encounter QuickBooks and Sage Fixed Assets. Solid, standard Excel skills are assumed.

The Location

Set just beyond Pinehurst, NC — a region famous for its championship golf and recurring role hosting the US Open. It's a truly appealing place to live for anyone who enjoys the links or wants a more affordable cost of living than the big metros deliver.
