Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

$2815.20/week - Job Summary: The Labor and Delivery RN provides specialized maternity care to patients before, during, and after childbirth. This role involves managing high-risk pregnancies, monitoring fetal well-being, and delivering comprehensive prenatal and postnatal nursing care. Responsibilities: Perform thorough assessments of obstetric patients, including physiologic and psychosocial data collection. Implement evidence-based care plans for labor, delivery, and postpartum stages while adhering to hospital policies. Educate patients and their families about labor, delivery processes, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for patient rights regardless of background or circumstances. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, doula, and support staff to coordinate patient care. Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold a current Washington State RN license. Obtain AWHONN’s Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within 3 months of training completion. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required; NRP certification mandatory for working in MBU. Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in obstetrics, labor, or delivery preferred. Demonstrate strong critical thinking, crisis management, and excellent communication skills. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs, performing CPR, and supporting patient mobility.
