Position Summary Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Supervisor of Patient Access Services plans, supervises, coordinates and directs the day‑to‑day operations of the front desk teams. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service, resolving issues, and providing accurate information to customers. The role participates in the recommendation, development and implementation of short and long‑term quality service strategies that improve customer satisfaction and department operations. The Supervisor proactively identifies and resolves service barriers and works with partnering departments as needed. Responsibilities also include staff hiring, retention and satisfaction, collecting, analyzing and reporting data to ensure customer service and productivity standards are achieved. Essential Responsibilities / Duties Implement department policies, procedures and standards and supervise registration operations to achieve productivity targets, quality standards and operational goals. Supervise staff responsible for screening prior‑authorization and coordination of specialized services requests. Prepare activity reports on volume, perform daily quality data review and take corrective actions. Resolve departmental operations problems and participate in the development of policies and procedures to ensure outstanding service delivery and customer satisfaction. Conduct daily analysis of department patient volume, monitor and adjust staffing resources to meet demand and performance goals, and maximize efficiency. Interview applicants, make hiring decisions, orient new employees and train current employees on new procedures and regulations. Monitor staff to ensure compliance with established workflows, administer disciplinary procedures and resolve grievances. Ensure registration staff have the tools and training needed to provide outstanding customer service. Work with other members of the management team to identify and implement technological enhancements to improve service delivery. Act as an information resource to other departments and doctors’ offices on patient information and appointment completion. Identify staff training opportunities to enhance customer service through the use of metrics and staff feedback. Participate in direct training of staff as appropriate. Complete annual performance evaluations of direct reports. Serve as front desk staff backup or cover supervisor as needed and assist with complicated financial clearance cases. Maintain current knowledge of policies, procedures, workflows, software and technology used by the Scheduling Call Center and Department. Monitor staff satisfaction, achieve retention goals and maintain a positive work environment and culture for Call Center staff. Participate in projects and committees as needed and perform other tasks as part of the management team. Perform other duties as required. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required. At least three years of healthcare or financial counseling experience and complete knowledge of third‑party payor requirements and federal and state regulations. Compensation and Benefits Compensation Range: $53,000.00 – $77,000.00.
