Certified Respiratory TherapistThe Certified Respiratory Therapist at Franciscan Health is one who oversees the diagnosis, treatment, and care management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Franciscan Health takes pride in hiring coworkers who provide compassionate, comprehensive care for our patients and the communities we serve.What You Can Expect:Set up and operate mechanical ventilators using invasive or non-invasive procedures on patients ranging from neonatal to adult; administer high frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), and conventional methods to deliver nitric oxide to patients.Perform ventilation therapies, administer inhaled medications (SABA, LABA, LAMA, ICS, etc.), utilize incentive spirometry, and perform other essential respiratory tasks.Conduct special procedures, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), arterial blood gas tests (ABG), pulmonary function tests and surfactant delivery; assist physicians during caesarean section births, high-risk deliveries, and patient transport.Attend code blue and rapid response team activation to perform or assist with airway management.Perform thorough patient assessments, obtain patient history, and elicit an accurate description of sleep problems in order to diagnose and treat patients with science-based medicine.Educate patients and their caregivers about their conditions, and teach appropriate disease management techniques, such as breathing exercises, or the use of medications or respiratory equipment.Qualifications:Required: Associate's Degree Respiratory Care ScienceRequired: High School Diploma/GEDRequired: Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart AssociationRequired: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)Required: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - State Licensing Board Respiratory Care Practitioner LicensePreferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart AssociationPreferred: Clinical ExperienceTravel is required: Never or RarelyEqual Opportunity EmployerIt is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
