Manufacturing Maintenance Technician II

Job Summary

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment while managing normal operational variability. Diagnose and repair common issues to minimize downtime. Support equipment reliability across multiple systems and processes.

Essential Job Functions*

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and basic electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot routine equipment failures (motors, conveyors, hydraulic systems).
• Replace or repair components such as valves, pumps, sensors, and bearings.
• Read and interpret basic schematics and equipment manuals.
• Support furnace, forging press, and finishing equipment maintenance.
• Assist in diagnosing downtime events and implementing fixes.
• Complete maintenance documentation in CMMS systems.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Train and assist Level I technicians.
• Follow all safety protocols, including confined space and LOTO procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of maintenance, industrial, or related experience.

Competencies - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems required to maintain production equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair routine equipment issues to minimize production downtime.
• Skill in reading equipment diagrams, schematics, and manuals to guide maintenance work.
• Knowledge of industrial systems such as conveyors, presses, and furnaces used in metal manufacturing.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and measurement devices effectively.
• Ability to communicate equipment issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently on routine maintenance tasks and escalate complex issues appropriately.

Work Environment

Maintenance: Self-paced, 8 hr shifts. May be exposed to fumes, loud noises and extreme temperatures infrequently. Functional near, far and peripheral vision and functional hearing required.

Physical Demands

Maintenance: Medium - Very heavy, lifting up to 150 lbs.
