Sr. Clinical Nutrition Specialist

Location San Diego, USA—Remote Position Summary The Sr. Clinical Nutrition Specialist will serve as a clinical and scientific expert in medical nutrition therapy, supporting clinical development, clinical operations and medical affairs teams. The role ensures nutrition‑related products, therapies and educational materials are evidence‑based, compliant, and aligned with current clinical guidelines. The specialist acts as a liaison between healthcare professionals, internal stakeholders and external partners to provide diet monitoring training and oversight in clinical studies. Responsibilities Provide evidence‑based nutrition expertise for investigational products, particularly those related to metabolic disorders or medical nutrition therapy. Contribute to development of clinical study protocols and study manuals such as the site dietitian manual. Train site dietitians on diet data entry and monitoring using specialized study tools and provide oversight of diet monitoring at clinical sites. Review and interpret complex clinical data related to diet management for reconciliation with clinical practice and ensure scientific accuracy for publications. Develop and maintain tools and educational materials for healthcare providers, study participants, and internal teams, ensuring all content aligns with current nutrition guidelines and regulatory standards. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field required; master’s degree preferred. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN, LDN) credentials preferred. Experience in metabolic disorders required. 3+ years of direct clinical experience, including work with dietary management of inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) required. Experience in clinical research, pharmaceutical industry, or medical nutrition therapy preferred.
