Telepresenter – Telehealth Program (2026–2027) Starting Date: Immediately Funding: One-–year, full-–time, benefit-eligible, grant-funded position in collaboration with Valley Health. Location: Primary: Luray Middle School; other division offices or schools as required. Classification: Classified Pay: $25,500 – $40,109 per year FLSA Status: Non- exempt Job Summary The Telepresenter will be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or degreed Medical Assistant (MA) who serves as the onsite medical professional for the PCPS–Valley Health Telemedicine Program during the 2026–2027 school year. The role involves coordinating, facilitating, and documenting telemedicine visits using digital stethoscope, otoscope, and examination camera under the supervision of the school nurse and principal. The Telepresenter will perform comprehensive assessments, medication reconciliation, patient education, and follow-up planning to ensure adherence to care plans. Responsibilities Strategize, initiate, and facilitate the creation of the specialty telemedicine program and its day-to-day requirements. Conduct pre-visit planning, assessment, and medication reconciliation for telemedicine visits. Present and facilitate real-time telemedicine visits, then provide patient education and assistance with visit follow-up. Document the visit thoroughly and ensure required distant provider documentation is entered into the electronic health record. Review and update medical records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation. Provide competent assessment, care, and treatment appropriate to patient age. Deliver care preserving patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Recognize and report signs of abuse or neglect. Perform on-site point-of-care tests and procedures with appropriate billing codes. Prepare and administer medications, injections, and vaccines as ordered. Process patient phone calls, e-prescribing, and faxes efficiently. Prepare patient rooms, supplies, and equipment per provider preferences. Educate patients on treatment plans, procedures, medications, and general health. Schedule tests, procedures, consultations, and office appointments accurately. Ensure proper disinfection/sterilization of surgical instruments. Maintain tracking logs for medication, critical lab, and equipment. Adhere to HIPAA and safety standards, including biohazard disposal. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant issued by the Virginia State Board of Nursing. Certification in CPR (American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Ability to lift up to 25 pounds routinely and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Good moral character. Strong decision-making skills and ability to work as part of a team. Proficiency with electronic health record systems and telehealth technology. Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and visual acuity for computer use. Ability to work with special needs students and maintain professional demeanor with parents, staff, and healthcare personnel. Physical Demands Duties include frequent walking, stooping, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds. Requirements for frequent contact with students, school administration, division personnel, Valley Health officials, other health agencies, and parents, as well as travel, may occur.
