Director, Power Systems and Automation

TRC Talent Solutions is working with a rapidly growing energy systems integrator based in Corpus Christi, TX. This organization operates at the intersection of high-voltage infrastructure and advanced automation, delivering engineered digital and electrical solutions across the modern energy sector. They are seeking a full-time Director of Service Operations to lead their Automation & Power Systems service organization.

 

The Director of Service Operations will own the P&L for a large field service business supporting power protection, control, and automation systems. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth, operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction across installation, commissioning, maintenance, and modernization services.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Own service P&L including revenue growth, gross margin, forecasting, and cost control

• Define regional service strategy, KPIs, capacity planning, utilization, and delivery performance standards

• Lead commercial execution including pricing, quoting, contract renewals, and aftermarket service growth

• Serve as executive-level customer interface for key accounts, escalations, and service delivery performance

• Drive safety, quality, and compliance (OSHA, NFPA 70E, site-specific standards) and enforce a zero-incident culture

• Build and lead service teams including managers, engineers, technicians, and subcontractors

• Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and technical capability development

• Ensure strong technical execution across protection relays (SEL, ABB, Siemens, GE) and automation platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi)

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Power Systems, or related field preferred

• 10+ years in power protection, automation, or field service environments

• 5+ years leading multi-site service organizations with frontline leadership responsibility

• Strong technical background in protection relays, commissioning, and industrial automation systems

• Proven P&L ownership or strong financial accountability (budgeting, forecasting, margin management)

• Experience leading commercial operations including pricing, proposals, renewals, and customer escalation management

Demonstrated leadership in safety, operational excellence, and large-scale service delivery
