Data Scientist

Akkodis is seeking a Data Scientist for a Contract with a client in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and deploying scalable machine learning solutions, building data pipelines, and enabling AI-driven insights across pharma and life sciences domains.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Data Scientist Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models using Databricks, Python, and Spark for advanced analytics use cases.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, Medallion) for structured and unstructured data.
• Apply NLP and generative AI techniques to extract insights from clinical, commercial, and regulatory datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data science solutions and actionable insights.
• Optimize data processing and model performance while ensuring compliance with data governance and regulatory standards (HIPAA, GxP).
• Enable self-service analytics using tools like Databricks Genie, improving data accessibility and decision-making across teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics roles.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Databricks, Python/PySpark, MLflow, and Delta Lake with experience building scalable ML pipelines and Lakehouse architectures.
• Proven experience working with healthcare/pharma data, applying AI/ML and NLP techniques, and ensuring compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and GxP.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $53.00 per hour
