Job Experiences That Are PREFERRED But Not Required nursing care in the pediatric patient population Hematology and Oncology experience Critical thinking and triage skills Mental flexibility to ebb and flow with the busy clinic day Skills needed: port access, central line experience, IV start experience, blood product administration, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration Ambulatory and/or inpatient Epic experience CPHON Certification Comfortability flying to serve on outreach clinic Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to infusion patients. Requires excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize the needs of the patients and the practice. (Occasionally works in emergent patient care situations requiring critical thinking and prompt assessment skills). Will perform age-related patient assessment and intervention as well as scheduling tests and interventions per provider order. Responsible for utilizing the professional nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients across age continuum in the infusion care setting. Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, AACN, ACEN, and NLN CNEA. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific licensure, competencies, and certifications.
