Quality Control Specialist

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Quality Control Inspector to work out of our Waggaman, LA location. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support our production operations and ensure every part leaving our facility meets the highest standards.

Essential Duties:

• Perform in-process, first-article, and final inspections of fabricated steel components
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, gauges, etc.
• Verify weld quality in accordance with AWS standards (visual inspection)
• Document nonconformances and support root-cause and corrective-action activities
• Work closely with production, welding, and engineering teams to maintain quality expectations
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and safety standards
• Maintain accurate inspection records in the QC system

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in steel fabrication, welding, machining, or manufacturing required
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Familiarity with welding standards (AWS D1.1 preferred)
• Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft products required (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
• Prior QC/QA experience is a plus (not required-will train the right candidate)

Days/Shift:

• Monday thru Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
