Primary Purpose University Communications and Marketing protects and advances Carolina's reputation as the nation's first and best public research university. In partnership with leaders and colleagues across campus, the team is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated strategy to share the impact of our university's teaching, research and service that improves our state, nation and world. Areas within University Communications and Marketing include Web Planning and Production, Internal Communications, Development Marketing, Executive Communications, Strategic Communications, Marketing, Social Media, Creative Services, and the UNC Visitors Center. Position Summary The Video Production Specialist reports to the Multimedia Team Lead and serves as a key visual storyteller for the University. This role will create compelling video content that advances institutional priorities, expands reach and strengthens the Carolina brand. This position researches, plans, captures, edits and publishes platform-specific video content that tells authentic, engaging stories about the University's people, research, teaching and impact. Working collaboratively with colleagues in University Communications and Marketing, this position develops high-impact, quick-turn video content, producing short‑form videos, motion graphics and other digital assets optimized for social media, web and emerging digital platforms. This position will be expected to meet strict editorial deadlines, including producing b‑roll and video interviews for media outlets as well as producing timely content for event coverage. In addition, this position will provide video support for executive communications' social media channels that amplify the Chancellor, senior leaders and other institutional priorities. The Video Production Specialist will be expected to have sound editorial judgement, identify emerging storytelling opportunities and adapt content quickly to real‑time events and conversations while maintaining the University's brand standards and reputation. Job Details Hiring Range: $25.00 per hour Contract Type: Full-time Temporary Hours per week: 40 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Location: North Carolina, US Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 1 to 6 months Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Management Preferences Computer skills on a Mac platform and be familiar with Adobe Premiere Demonstrated skill in videography production through a portfolio of video projects Campus Security Authority Responsibilities Not Applicable.
