Registered respiratory therapist

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist II to provide advanced respiratory care in an academic health center. In this role, you will manage complex respiratory cases, perform assessments, deliver therapies, and optimize ventilator support for diverse patient populations. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, precept students and junior therapists, support quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to MUSC’s educational mission through teaching and participation in evidence-based practice and clinical research. Deliver evidence-based respiratory care, including assessments, treatments, and ventilator management Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory outcomes Educate students, residents, and staff on respiratory therapy techniques and best practices Participate in quality improvement, protocol development, and implementation of clinical standards Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record accurately Support and precept junior therapists, contributing to their clinical skill development Engage in clinical research or academic initiatives aligned with MUSC’s educational mission Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements Advanced respiratory assessment Ventilator management Arterial blood gas interpretation Airway management Respiratory diagnostics (PFTs, spirometry) Electronic medical record documentation Patient and student education Clinical precepting and mentoring Infection control and safety compliance Interdisciplinary teamwork Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential State respiratory care practitioner license (South Carolina) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred Credential from NBRC or equivalent national body #J-18808-Ljbffr ACHE
