Overview Ranked RN position in a Level II Nursery with neonatology services serving families throughout Central Illinois. This role includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for RN applicants with more than one year of experience who commit to a three‑year tenure. Position is located in Urbana, IL. Position Highlights Unit capacity – Approximately 1,300 births per year. 18 Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) Rooms 10 Antepartum/Postpartum Rooms 5 Triage Rooms 2 Operating Rooms 7 Level II Nursery Rooms Patient population – Women and children’s services with a focus on neonates and level II care. Staffing model – Nursing‑to‑patient ratios established by a Nursing Care Committee that incorporates evidence‑based guidelines, quality indicators, and financial stewardship metrics. Unit culture – Collaborative shared governance, evidence‑based practice, and a supportive environment that empowers nurses to contribute ideas and improve patient care. Core nursing skills – Coordinate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate mother‑ and infant‑care plans. Monitor bonding and emotional status of the mother and support breastfeeding journeys. Educate family members on best practices for mother and infant care. Qualifications Certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days. Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois (IDFPR). Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent nursing diploma. Experience in obstetric or neonatal nursing preferred. Responsibilities Perform all unit duties and follow scope of practice. Implement procedures and theories related to obstetric and neonatal care. Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation for the healthcare team. Complete initial patient assessment, develop appropriate care plans, and update plans based on continuous evaluation. Report or correct safety hazards and incidents to ensure patient and employee safety. Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide constructive feedback for professional growth. Fulfill all departmental competency requirements. Administer medications specific to obstetric patients and monitor fetal well‑being. Educate patients and families about obstetric care. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range is $36.80 per hour – $59.89 per hour. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
