General Production WorkerThis role supports a high-volume manufacturing operation by performing a variety of production, packaging, and material-handling tasks on fast-paced lines. You will work across different production areas to keep lines running smoothly, ensure products are properly packaged, and support machine operators with changeovers and setups. The position requires consistent physical activity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy, team-oriented environment.ResponsibilitiesPack finished products into boxes directly from the production line with speed and accuracy.Load and unload materials from production lines to keep operations running continuously.Gather and stage raw materials and supplies needed for production runs.Monitor lines and quickly unclog jams to minimize downtime and maintain flow.Cap bottles and ensure closures are secure and meet quality standards.Trim excess plastic from bottles and components to achieve a clean, finished appearance.Work in different production areas as needed, including trimming, filling, and other line tasks.Lift bags and other materials safely as part of daily material-handling duties.Wrap pallets of finished product securely for storage or shipment.Support machine operators with changeovers and setups to prepare lines for new products or runs.Inspect products visually during handling to identify obvious defects or issues.Stay active and engaged on the lines throughout the shift, with no prolonged standing in one place.Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues that may impact production or quality.Essential Skills3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Hands-on experience with machine operating or line work in production.Proven ability to perform changeovers and setups on production or packaging equipment.Comfort working in an incredibly fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move continuously throughout the entire shift.Basic troubleshooting skills to recognize and respond to line issues such as jams.Strong attention to detail when packing, trimming, and inspecting products.Reliability in adhering to assigned shift schedules (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in plastics or chemical manufacturing is a plus.Mechanical aptitude to support machine operation and minor adjustments.Comfort working around blow molding equipment and high-speed production lines.Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced roles such as blow mold operator.Why Work Here?You will join a profitable organization with strong product demand and a backlog of production, providing stability and consistent work. The facility blends and fills antifreeze on site and manufactures its own bottles using three blow molding wheels that feed three separate lines. You will work directly on these lines, primarily on the trimming side and managing the flow of bottles. The work is highly active, with constant movement and no standing idle, and you will be on your feet and busy for the entire shift. Available shifts include 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.). The environment is warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter, and the facility is described as nice, organized, and structured for efficient production.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
