McDaniels, Piggly Wiggly, Sneads, FL 32460 Position Type: Full Time | Job Category: Grocery Piggly Wiggly is seeking Cashier Associates (Full and Part‑time) who enjoy serving customers and providing excellent, courteous, and prompt customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in grocery retail food prep clean‑up and will be able to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a high level of safety mindedness and attention to detail. Responsibilities Arrives at the workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required training courses and meetings. Responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers. Processes every customer transaction through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently, ensuring that every item is scanned. Understands the Point of Sale (POS) system and handles various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, etc. and checkout procedures according to company policy. Understands and adheres to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and works honestly and effectively to control loss. Understands and adheres to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs). Reports on pricing discrepancies to Management and/or Pricing/Scan Coordinator. Follows established policies and procedures (where applicable) for rewards programs, gift cards, and coupons. Stays current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads. Adheres to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Assists with inventory management and restocking. Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management. Practices preventive maintenance by thoroughly inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair. Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned, including stocking and cleaning. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Communicates with associates and guests to provide excellent customer service, including greeting customers, answering questions in a friendly manner, proactively offering assistance, and providing accurate and timely information. Handles, prepares, transports, and stores products; ensuring food and human safety practices strictly adhere to applicable guidelines and company policies. Reads, counts, and writes accurately to complete all documentation. Moves or handles merchandise throughout the store, generally weighing 0-50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. Stands and/or bends over a worktable for the duration of shift; handles physical demands as required. Understands and complies with company quality goals. Works varied hours and days as business dictates. Preferences High School Diploma or Equivalent. Customer service experience. Ability to handle stressful situations. Effective communication skills. Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction). Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk. Experience handling monetary transactions and/or Customer Service experience. Strong communication skills. Ability to work varied hours and days as business dictates. Understanding of and compliance with company quality goals. Pay Range Varies by work area.
