Dental Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice in Cheyenne, WY. The ideal candidate will assist dentists during patient procedures, ensure a clean and organized work environment, and provide excellent patient care and support. Key Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for use. Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and providing other support as needed. Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist. Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental treatments and procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and update charts as necessary. Schedule patient appointments and manage front desk duties when required. Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Wyoming Radiology Certification. Current CRP, OSHA, and HIPAA certifications. Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred. Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) is a plus. Previous experience in a dental office is preferred but not required. Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and terminology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills for managing patient records and scheduling. Experience in Dentrix, Microsoft, Google Workspace, and Dexis is a plus. Work Environment This position is based in a dental office located in Cheyenne, WY. The role requires standing for extended periods and working closely with patients and dental staff. One evening shift a week and 2 Saturday shifts per month will be required.
