Theodore, AL: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking dependable and safety-minded Roadway Laborers to support traffic control, guardrail installation, sign placement, and roadway maintenance operations throughout Mobile and surrounding areas. This position involves outdoor work, travel, operating equipment, and assisting various roadway construction and maintenance crews. Must have a Valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Essential Duties

• Install, load, unload, and maintain guardrail systems and related components.
• Place, install, and remove traffic control devices, signs, barricades, and other roadway safety equipment.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment, including sign trucks and other traffic control equipment.
• Assist with traffic control operations to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and work crews.
• Load and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies at job sites.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine manual labor and assist other roadway or maintenance crews as assigned.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and basic maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards.
• Travel to job sites throughout Alabama and surrounding states as required.
• Work overtime, nights, weekends, or extended hours as needed to support project schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Act as a positive representative of the company and maintain professional conduct at all times.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Previous construction, roadway, traffic control, guardrail, utility, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, hand tools, power tools, and traffic control equipment.
• Ability to learn and operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, post drivers, and post pullers.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and willingness to follow established procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist in multiple types of roadway projects.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and adapt to changing job site conditions.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Experience flagging traffic is preferred but not required.
• GPS, mapping, and basic computer experience are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with occasional team lifts up to 150 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
• Ability to safely handle tools, materials, and equipment in a physically demanding environment.
• Ability to travel regularly and stay overnight when project requirements dictate.

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to outdoor environmental conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, dust, dirt, noise, traffic hazards, machinery, vibration, and uneven terrain.
• May be exposed to bright sunlight, low-light conditions, fumes, and other construction-related environmental factors.
• Work is performed in active roadway, construction, and maintenance environments requiring constant attention to safety.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Any combination of education, training, and related experience will be considered.
• Previous roadway construction, traffic control, guardrail installation, utility construction, landscaping, heavy labor, or construction experience is a plus.
