ATP Technician (Acceptance Test Technician)

Location: Northbrook, IL $24.00 - $26.00 per Hour | Full-Time | Benefits Available

We are seeking a skilled ATP Technician (Acceptance Test Technician) who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working hands-on with advanced electro-mechanical systems. If you have a strong mechanical aptitude, electronics knowledge, and take pride in ensuring products perform flawlessly before reaching customers, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As an ATP Technician, you will play a critical role in verifying the performance and quality of our finished products by:

• Performing functional, electrical, and mechanical testing of completed assemblies.
• Troubleshooting and resolving wiring, communication, and operational issues.
• Evaluating and adjusting mechanical systems, including gears, worm drives, sprockets, chains, and backlash settings.
• Reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
• Recording and documenting electrical and mechanical test results.
• Performing firmware updates and basic system configuration.
• Working with serial communication protocols including RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485.
• Configuring basic Ethernet communications and IP address settings.
• Supporting production goals by efficiently diagnosing and correcting product issues.
• Collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

Mechanical Skills

• Experience working with gears, sprockets, chains, worm shafts, and mechanical drive systems.
• Ability to test, adjust, and verify mechanical assemblies.
• Strong understanding of mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools.

Electrical & Technical Skills

• Experience with low-voltage DC electronics.
• Knowledge of DC motors, including brushed and stepper motors.
• Comfortable using multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Understanding of wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, SBC boards, processors, and firmware updates.

Communication & Networking

• Knowledge of serial communication protocols:
• • RS-232
  • RS-422
  • RS-485 (2-wire and 4-wire)
• Basic Ethernet networking and IP address configuration.

Additional Qualifications

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to measure, record, and document test data accurately.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and production goals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.

OR

• 4+ years of equivalent experience in:
• • Product testing
  • Electronics troubleshooting
  • Product repair
  • Manufacturing assembly
  • Electro-mechanical systems
• Familiarity with SolidWorks is a plus.
