Clinical Nurse - Behavioral Health Resource Team

Location St. Louis Children's Hospital, One Children's Place, St. Louis, MO 63110 Schedule Full-time; 36 hours per week 12 hour shifts Nights 7:00pm-7:30am Every 3rd weekend Holiday rotation Role The Behavioral Health Resource Team (BHRT) provides care to patients with complex behavioral health needs. The nurse will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medication, monitor progress, and provide emotional support to patients and families. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other interprofessional team members, patients, and families. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
