Family Store Manager

Salary Range $18.00 Education Level High School Diploma/GED Category Store

This position is responsible for:

Planning, administering, monitoring, and evaluating the day-to-day operations of a small Family Store with a limited staff ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; processing, displaying, and pricing donated items to ensure a maximum financial return on the sale of store items; assisting customers in a polite and friendly manner; preparing store displays that are attractive, neat, and orderly; rotating and restocking store merchandise to ensure quick turnover; ensuring the accountability and security of all store items and funds; serving as a supervisor and/or lead worker to volunteers and/or subordinate store personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares, processes, and maintains various sales records, tax forms and social service vouchers; prepares routine sales reports as directed.
• Assists with sorting and pricing items and driving the forklift as needed.
• Acts as back to Truck Driver during vacancies and absences.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Knowledge of effective and efficient methods for organizing and maintaining records and ability to perform the same.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of retail store management.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective customer relations.
• Ability to evaluate overall store operations to detect deficiencies and implement appropriate corrective action.
• Ability to price donated merchandise reasonably and fairly.
• Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. and three years supervisory experience working in a retail store environment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Certifications: Valid State Drivers License
