About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg Renal Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience required License: Compact or state license in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Renal experience required - Critical care experience preferred Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware that upon accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may assign the nurse to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the emergency event passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed during each emergency event, as impacts may vary. Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require coverage. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. Reliable and effective communication is essential for this role. Mandatory skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and central line blood draw. Experience with isolation precautions and the administration of various types of medication is required. Renal failure management and proficiency in telemetry remote monitoring are necessary. The daily census is approximately 24 patients, with patient ratios set at 6 for days and nights. Interdisciplinary support is available through various services including respiratory therapy and social services. General medical care for renal patients requiring dialysis will be provided, along with support for post-surgical patients.
