ACT MH Counselor Substance Abuse Specialist Full Time Salary Troy, NY, US 13 days ago Requisition ID: 1962 Salary Range: $66,770.73 To $69,565.00 Annually Sing on bonus may apply to qualified candidates Posted salary is for fully licensed candidates Key Responsibilities Work as part of a multidisciplinary mobile ACT treatment team with a shared caseload Conduct assessments of mental health and/or substance use disorders, including co-occurring conditions Demonstrate knowledge of principles and practices of harm reduction Provide ongoing mental health and substance use support in community-based settings Serve as the team’s Substance Use Specialist, offering consultation and guidance on substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment Provide training and education to team members on substance use treatment approaches and best practices Participate in team meetings, care coordination, and crisis response as part of the ACT model Ensure adherence to OMH, Medicaid, and agency regulations, policies, and standards of care Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with program and regulatory requirements Demonstrate professional behavior and contribute positively to team functioning and collaboration Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field LMSW or LCSW preferred, or NYS Limited Permit/License as a Mental Health Counselor Minimum of one year of experience and/or training in substance use treatment, with demonstrated knowledge and competency Strong knowledge of motivational interviewing, stage-wise treatment, and harm reduction principles Valid and clean NYS driver’s license Reliable transportation Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Basic computer knowledge, including ability to complete electronic documentation 13 paid days off in your first year (increasing annually) 56 hours of NYS Sick Leave Major medical leave Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. 403(b) retirement plan with company contributions after one year.
