Auditory Vision Productions is looking for a highly motivated, experienced Production Manager to become a key part of our leadership team. This is a hands-on position for someone who wants to be heavily involved in live event production, logistics, equipment, staffing, and the day-to-day execution of shows.

The Production Manager will work directly with ownership and serve as a primary leader for AVP productions. This person will be responsible for helping take events from the planning stage through load-in, show operation, and strike.

This is not a position for someone looking to simply manage from behind a desk. You will be expected to lead from the front, work alongside the crew, solve problems, stay organized, and do whatever is necessary to produce a successful event.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead production manager on assigned events.
• Work directly with ownership to plan and execute productions.
• Coordinate event logistics, production schedules, equipment, labor, transportation, and vendors.
• Help determine equipment and labor requirements for upcoming events.
• Pull, prep, organize, load, and return production equipment from the AVP shop.
• Coordinate equipment needs with partner vendors when additional equipment is required.
• Lead and work alongside crews during load-in, setup, show operation, and strike.
• Personally assist with setup and teardown of events.
• Operate and troubleshoot professional audio, video, lighting, laser, staging, and other production equipment when a dedicated technician is not budgeted or available.
• Serve as a working technician when necessary rather than simply delegating technical work.
• Help staff events and coordinate employees, freelancers, and production personnel in close communication with ownership.
• Communicate with clients, venues, vendors, employees, and other production partners as needed.
• Help maintain organization and accountability for AVP equipment and production resources.
• Identify potential problems before they become show-day problems.
• Develop practical solutions when equipment, staffing, scheduling, or production conditions change.
• Maintain a high standard of organization throughout the planning, preparation, execution, and completion of each event.
• Help improve AVP’s production systems, procedures, and overall efficiency.
• Assist ownership with the logistics and operational side of running the company.
• Take on additional responsibilities as the company grows.

Technical Experience

Strong experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

• Professional audio systems
• Live sound reinforcement
• Digital consoles and system processing
• Professional lighting systems
• Lighting consoles
• Video systems and LED walls
• Lasers and laser show equipment
• Staging and rigging coordination
• Power distribution
• Production networking
• Event communications
• General live event production

Broad technical knowledge is highly valued. You do not need to be the best technician in every department, but you should be capable of understanding production as a whole and stepping into different departments when the situation requires it.

Leadership & Company Role

The Production Manager will be a key leadership position within AVP and will work closely with ownership on a daily basis.

You will help ownership manage the logistics of productions, coordinate employees and vendors, prepare equipment, plan shows, solve problems, and make sure the work actually gets done.

There are many responsibilities associated with this position that cannot realistically be listed in a job description. Live event production changes constantly, and the Production Manager needs to be someone who can see what needs to happen, think ahead, and take action.

We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company rather than simply clock in and clock out.

Starting pay will be based on experience, technical ability, leadership experience, and overall qualifications.

Candidates with significant experience and the ability to immediately take on a high level of responsibility may qualify for a higher starting rate .
