Project Specialist, Custom Antibodies

Project Specialist coordinates custom antibody development from peptide design through purification at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Rockford location. The role involves managing projects, communicating with customers, and providing technical support throughout the antibody development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate custom antibody projects from peptide design through purification and quality assurance
• Communicate daily with customers, manage quotes, and provide technical support post-delivery
• Develop antigenic peptide sequences using internal applications and protein chemistry knowledge
• Evaluate experimental data and generate reports for customers on project outcomes
• Coordinate across antibody team members, sales representatives, receiving, and shipping functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or life science with 5+ years of immunology/biochemistry laboratory experience
• Master's or PhD in chemistry/biology preferred with 3-5 or 1-2 years relevant lab experience respectively
• Knowledge of antigen design theory and strategy for monoclonal and polyclonal antibody production
• Proficiency in standard antibody laboratory procedures including ELISA, Western blotting, ChIP, IP, IHC, IF, ICC, FACS
• Project management certification (PMP, CPM, or MPM) preferred; strong project management and prioritization skills required
• Ability to troubleshoot scientific data and manage multiple concurrent projects with accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation: $75,800–$101,000 base
