- Experience with drips in a medical surgical/telemetry unit


Description:
RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the facility.
Specialty includes mixed acuity (medical surgical/telemetry & stepdown).
The unit cares for medical surgical patients specializing in neurology and neurosurgery.
The specialized patient population includes strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions.
Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with some rare instances of 1:7 at night.
Stepdown ratios are 1:3-4 for both days and nights.
The RN must have experience managing various therapy drips.
First-time travelers are not accepted; travelers must have at least two years of experience in a Level 1 Academic Medical Center.
RNs will float within scope to meet facility needs.
Care teams include CNAs, care techs, and support staff.
The facility is a nicotine-free environment.
Weekend requirements consist of 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period, working either Saturday and Sunday days or Friday and Saturday nights.
Holiday requirement includes working 2 of 3 major holidays.
Local candidates will not be accepted; candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility.
Requested time off must be submitted with the application.
Mandatory compliance documents will be necessary prior to start.
