Pharmacy Support Specialist

IDR is seeking a Pharmacy Support Specialist to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting pharmacy operations with a focus on prior authorizations, working closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and pharmacies to ensure timely medication approvals. The position offers an engaging environment within the healthcare industry, emphasizing clinical documentation and communication.

Position Overview for the Pharmacy Support Specialist:

• Manage prior authorization requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in a remote setting.
• Act as a liaison between pharmacies, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
• Review denied or pending authorization requests and gather necessary clinical documentation.
• Complete and submit prior authorization paperwork through various pharmacy systems.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to resolve issues and secure approvals.

Requirements for the Pharmacy Support Specialist:

• Prior Authorization experience, especially in pharmacy benefits or PBM settings.
• Strong knowledge of medications and pharmacy terminology.
• Experience working with insurance denials and appeals.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Comfortable making outbound calls to insurance companies and healthcare providers all day.
