Instrumentation TechnicianLocation: Joplin, MO | Schedule: Rotating 12-Hour Day/Night Shifts | Full-Time, HourlyA well-established industrial manufacturer in the Joplin, MO area is seeking a skilled and innovative Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join its engineering team. This hands-on role supports automation, reliability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement across a fast-paced production environment. We are looking for a self-directed team player who is driven to investigate problems, develop those around them, and thrive on a cross-functional team of operators and technicians.This is a well-compensated hourly position working rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, with occasional additional hours as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the lead technical expert on high-level equipment processes and electrical sub-components including sensors, motors, and drives on assigned shift.Execute and support plant safety and environmental programs.Provide operational support on a cross-functional shift team to drive uptime, line efficiency, and waste reduction goals.Troubleshoot process and equipment issues in collaboration with shift technicians and operations leads.Perform planned maintenance work on a shift basis while prioritizing against line calls and other tasks.Identify and withdraw parts needed for electrical maintenance and repair projects.Perform electrical repairs on various types of equipment per standard work plans and manuals; contribute to improving documentation.Select, install, configure, and calibrate instruments and field devices.Test equipment for safety and operational efficiency.Program new plant equipment or modify existing programs as directed; utilize PLCs to aid in troubleshooting.Use electrical hand tools, voltage and amperage measuring devices, HART communicators, and other technical equipment for troubleshooting and repair.Bend, hang, and run conduit; pull electrical cable and wire as needed.Train plant personnel on new systems; update LOTO and SOP documentation.Participate in continuous improvement efforts across equipment, documentation, and processes.Maintain ownership of plant 5S programs and housekeeping standards.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, ORAssociate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a related field.Preferred QualificationsExperience with process control systems and hands-on troubleshooting in an industrial environment.Background in continuous or integrated multi-equipment manufacturing processes.Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLC experience.Knowledge of NEC and electrical distribution systems.Physical RequirementsMust be comfortable working in both an office environment and on the production floor; full PPE compliance required on the floor (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, ear protection).Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain heavy plant equipment.Regularly lift up to 10 lbs; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.Must be able to work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, and in environments with dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, electrical equipment, and elevated noise.Safety is a top priority — employee is responsible for both personal safety and the safety of peers.Facility operates 24/7; occasional extended hours may be required for troubleshooting, project implementation, or training.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive hourly wage commensurate with experienceGroup health and life insuranceVision and dental insuranceFlexible benefits plan401(k) retirement plan with company matchProfit-sharing retirement planAdditional benefits package#INDE
