The Cloud Engineer designs, implements, and manages the organization’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and efficient. Duties include migrating on‑premises systems to the cloud, automating infrastructure deployments, optimizing cloud costs, troubleshooting cloud‑related issues, and ensuring adherence to security policies. Responsibilities Design & Development: Create and develop cloud‑based systems and applications. Implementation: Deploy and integrate cloud services and software into the organization’s infrastructure. Maintenance & Management: Oversee the daily operations of cloud environments, ensuring they run smoothly and meet performance standards. Migration: Plan and execute the transfer of an organization’s on‑premise data and applications to the cloud. Security: Implement and maintain cloud security best practices to protect sensitive data and systems. Optimization: Monitor resource usage and costs to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency. Automation: Automate infrastructure provisioning and other operational tasks to improve speed and reliability. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues within cloud systems to ensure uninterrupted service. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience. Security Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly. Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). DevOps: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD). Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in coding and scripting to create and manage cloud‑based functions and applications. Containerization: Experience with technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for packaging and deploying applications. Networking: Solid understanding of network concepts and how to configure virtual networks in the cloud. Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and address technical issues and system weaknesses. Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with different technical and non‑technical teams to understand needs and deliver solutions. Compensation CGI is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00.
