Sr. Director, Analyst - Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies for CIO & AI Leaders (Remote US)

About the role:Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have insights, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional and global levels. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative insights which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations. Position Overview: Gartner’s CIO and AI Leader group is seeking an experienced Analyst to provide thought leadership, research, and advisory services at the intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to help guide CIOs and AI Leaders. The Analyst will identify emerging cybersecurity trends and vendors, helping client companies be prepared for future threats. The ideal candidate is a former CIO, CISO, or has demonstrable experience working closely with CIOs and AI Leaders, with deep expertise in cybersecurity from both technical and governance perspectives. This role will shape Gartner’s research agenda and client interactions on both how emerging technologies – such as agentic AI, quantum computing, and cloud-native architecture –are reshaping the cybersecurity landscape for enterprise leaders as well as how companies can utilize emerging technologies to protect their organizations.What you will do:Conduct in-depth research and develop actionable insights on the impact of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, quantum, blockchain/tokenization, edge computing) on cybersecurity trends and corporate threat landscapes. Providing CIOs and AI Leaders with best practices on how to safeguard their organizations.Analyze and advise on the impact of emerging technologies on enterprise cybersecurity strategies, architectures, and governance frameworks.Identify emerging security technologies that take advantage of emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing and help CIOs make decisions on future security architecture and governance models. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
