Shift Supervisor

Job Description Procter & Gamble (P&G) is one of the world’s leading companies in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) making globally admired brands such as Gillette, Pampers, Fairy and Oral‑B. This is an opportunity to be part of a robust and hard‑working team delivering the base operational and customisation business at Skelmersdale Distribution Centre . As a Shift Supervisor on site you will be responsible for all areas of operational work required to ensure the business runs smoothly with no outages. The role is initially based on a 2‑cycle shift pattern over 5 days (Monday‑Friday 06:00‑14:00 & 14:00‑22:00) with a competitive salary and an additional shift pay of £273 per month. What You’ll Do IWS & Standardized Work: Execute processes as per the standard with ability to challenge a process through root cause analysis and to update/create a standard. Identifying complex losses and contribute to elimination efforts via IWS: drive continuous improvement across the receiving area and routinely participate in loss elimination exercises. Fundamentals Ownership: Demonstrate perfect execution of site fundamental results on Safety, Quality and Internal Controls. Record, document and investigate any fundamental outages in these areas. Business Results Ownership: Own a specific area and deliverables (Receiving & Loading). Take ownership of the end of shift expectations including shift handover & cleaning standards of an area. Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across all departments to ensure the daily business is delivered on time and a clear handover is provided to the oncoming shift. Leadership: Act as fundamentals results owner for the shift, with accountability to complete Safety, Quality and Internal Control Alerts and complete investigations in a timely manner. Team Management: Lead monthly 1:1 and formal quarterly reviews with your team and work with individuals on creating and closing out Work Plans, coaching and supporting where necessary. Job Qualifications FLT Qualification / Trained and IOSH trained Strong problem‑solving skills with ability to eliminate or simplify non‑value‑added work. Decisive decision‑making: Proven capability to understand key business needs and make the right decisions for the business, escalating internally and externally if required. Leadership: Very strong personal accountability & ability to lead a small team. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with team members and external stakeholders. Technical Skills: Solid technical skills and experience of SAP/TMS/Maestro or similar, and solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Multi‑Tasking Ability: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities. Personal Accountability: Proactive approach to personal development and required to contribute to one of the following areas – First Aider, Working at Height, Fire Rep, Safety Rep.
