Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse (RN)

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our high-acuity, nationally-recognized team. The ideal candidate will have experience circulating in a fast-paced CVOR environment and will be capable of providing exceptional care for a diverse range of surgical cases.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Cardio OR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
• Number of Suites: 12
• Average Cases per Day: 20

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift Schedule: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM or 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM, Monday through Friday
• Call Requirements: Minimum 1 weekday and 1 full weekend per month, subject to variation based on staffing
• Parking: Daily parking available; monthly parking options range from various rates

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Circulating in a busy cardiovascular operating room setting
• Collaborating with a team of surgeons and OR personnel
• Applying thorough CVOR knowledge to support various surgical procedures
• Ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process

Qualifications

• Required Experience: 2 years of CVOR circulating experience
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS Certification
• Preferred Skills: Scrub experience is a plus, though not required
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Epic EMR system

Common Surgical Cases

The CVOR team primarily handles a variety of complex cases, including but not limited to:

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
• Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
• Kidney Transplant
• Robotic Surgery (Thoracic and Cardiac)
• Peripheral Vascular Surgery
• Aortic Repair
• Vascular Access
• Hybrid Procedures (TEVAR/EVAR, TAVR)
• Impella and IABP management
• Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support

Additional Information

Orientation will be provided specific to the unit and department. The environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
