About Gold House Ventures Gold House Ventures (GHV) is an early stage venture capital firm that invests in technology and founders who will power the future of culture, creativity, and community. GHV Fund I (2022) is a $30m vehicle that has invested in 50+ companies alongside firms such as a16z, Sequoia, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Accel, Goodwater, NEA, and Lightspeed. Your Role We are hiring an Investment Principal to work directly with our GPs, founders, and venture network to invest in the next generation of iconic startups. We are looking for an obsessive individual who is energized by building relationships with founders, thoughtful about contributing to the growth of our portfolio, and passionate about shaping the future of our Gold House community. Responsibilities Sourcing : Proactively identify investment opportunities through market research, networking, direct outreach, hosting and participating in industry events. Due Diligence : Conduct thorough research and analysis on potential investment opportunities, including market analysis, financial modeling, customer calls, and competitive landscape assessments. Deal Execution : Author investment memos, verbally present recommendations to investment committee, and maintain proactive, respectful communications with founders and other investors. Portfolio Value Creation : Support portfolio companies with strategic and operational needs (i.e. business development, partnerships, talent), and creatively and adaptively use technology tools to optimize these processes. Community Building : Cultivate and nurture relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, industry experts, and service partners to enhance Gold House Ventures’ network and visibility within the startup ecosystem by hosting and attending events. Scouts & Fellows Management : Recruit, manage, and scale GHV Scouts and Fellows programs to scale deal sourcing and fund operations. Requirements Based in the San Francisco Bay Area. 3+ years of investment experience at an early stage or multi-stage fund, or operational experience at a venture-backed startup. You have extremely high attention to detail, thrive in an unstructured environment, and take ownership of goals with a relentless drive to win. You have a proven track record of owning complex projects, organizing industry events, and building communities online and in-person. You are passionate about, and familiar with, the latest trends in technology development, why certain business models succeed by industry, and how products are built and distributed. You roll up your sleeves to solve problems; we always get the job done with speed and beyond the confines of regular working hours to match the pace of our founders.
