The Retail Sales Development Representative serves as the first point of contact for retail truck buyers, converting inquiries into qualified sales opportunities. Partnering with Marketing and Truck Sales Representatives, this role supports revenue growth through prompt lead response, consistent follow-up, and effective CRM management. Reporting to the Director of eCommerce and Digital Marketing, the position helps ensure a seamless customer experience, strong sales team handoff, and improved lead conversion.

Essential Job Functions

• Serve as the first point of contact for retail truck buyers by responding promptly to inquiries from website, phone, email, text, AI-driven channels, and third-party marketplaces.
• Conduct discovery conversations to assess customer vehicle needs, purchase timeline, trade-in opportunities, financing requirements, and sales readiness.
• Qualify and develop inbound leads using standardized sales development processes to create high-quality sales opportunities.
• Recommend appropriate vehicle options or alternatives based on customer needs, inventory availability, and overall fit.
• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects through CRM-driven workflows until they are ready for sales engagement or purchase.
• Accurately document customer interactions, qualification details, lead sources, and follow-up activities in the CRM system while maintaining data integrity.
• Schedule customer appointments and coordinate timely handoff of qualified opportunities to local dealership sales teams.
• Provide clear customer notes and qualification insights to support effective sales engagement and improve lead conversion

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in inside sales, sales development, business development, lead generation, or customer engagement roles.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or other enterprise CRM platforms to manage customer relationships, sales activities, and lead pipelines required.
• Preferred experience in the commercial truck, automotive, or transportation industry.
• Experience managing and converting digitally generated sales leads, including website, marketplace, and other online customer inquiries, preferred.
• A valid driver's license may be required, along with a driving record that meets the requirements of the company's insurance provider
