Climate Preparedness Collaborative Project Manager

Position Summary Climate Preparedness Collaborative Project Manager Location: Seattle, WA Annual Salary: $110,087.54 – $139,542.21 Funding: This role is currently funded through December 2027 with the possibility of extension based on continued availability of funds and operational needs. This full‑time position reports to the Climate Preparedness Manager within the DNRP Director’s Office and is responsible for implementing the Puget Sound Climate Preparedness Collaborative’s CRRC grant. The Project Manager works with climate adaptation practitioners across the Puget Sound region to build local and regional capacity for climate preparedness, mentors early‑career staff, and expands the Collaborative’s role as a leading resource for climate preparedness learning and practice. Job Duties Grant Management: Ensure that grant activities are completed on time; prepare grant progress and performance measure reports; track and manage the grant budget; supervise four full‑time Fellows and two part‑time interns; plan, organize, and facilitate the Collaborative Steering Committee. Manage and Support Implementation of the Small Communities Cohort Program (SCCP): Provide oversight and guidance, support SCCP Fellows in preparing community deliverables, review and edit deliverables, oversee subcontracting for technical services, and participate in SCCP call and activities as needed. Manage and Support Development of Tribal and Community Learning Series: Lead the development of the Climate and Communities Learning Series (CCLS) and the Tribal Partnership Learning Series (TPLS); supervise two part‑time interns; collaborate with engagement consultants and tribal partners; assist in hosting the TPLS and CELS series. Develop and Implement Collaborative Climate Engagement Activities: Create work plans so programming and technical resources address community needs; organize and facilitate calls, webinars, and convenings; evaluate and report on engagement outcomes through surveys and analytics. Build Cross‑Jurisdictional Partnerships & Alignment: Plan and host multi‑stakeholder workshops to identify opportunities for aligning federal, state, tribal, and local government climate preparedness goals; summarize priorities; identify regional trends. Experience & Qualifications Direct experience with climate adaptation planning, community resilience, and/or environmental management. Experience developing, implementing, and tracking project work‑plans. Experience facilitating virtual meetings, webinars, workshops, and other collaborative processes. Experience leading or working on teams with shared goals and project responsibilities. Demonstrated success building collaborative partnerships and working with diverse communities. Strong systems thinking and organizational skills. Creativity and ability to operate with ambiguity. Demonstrated ability to research and provide recommendations on complex issues using analysis, experience, and judgment. Working Conditions Work Location: Hybrid model with in‑office and telecommuting days. Primary onsite location is the collaboration space at King Street Center, 201 S. Jackson, Seattle, Washington 98104. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite. The position requires 40 hours per week and is non‑exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees will receive a County‑issued laptop and must maintain a reliable home workspace.
