Located in Georgetown, KY, this 13-week contract opportunity offers an engaging role within a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting. The position requires a dedicated pharmacist to start ASAP, responsible for maintaining medication safety, compliance, and effective pharmaceutical services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain drug supply, ordering timely quantities and managing emergency procurement.
• Conduct annual inventory and monthly inspections to ensure medication quality and accountability.
• Prepare, label, and dispense sterile and non-sterile medications accurately following hospital protocols.
• Manage controlled substances with strict regulatory adherence and document all dispensing activities.
• Support training and education programs for pharmacy and healthcare staff.
• Provide medication counseling at discharge and support patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Collaborate in pharmacy and therapeutics committees, quality assurance, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
• Utilize EPIC software for medication reconciliation and billing functions.
• Uphold confidentiality standards and contribute positively to organizational culture and JCAHO accreditation efforts.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Prior hospital or LTAC pharmacy experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical knowledge in antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetic dosing.
• Effective communication skills for gathering medication histories and providing discharge counseling.
• Experience interpreting culture results and managing anticoagulation therapy.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and medication reconciliation processes.
