Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must have the following skills to be considered for the role: ACLS BLS NIHSS Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: Progressive Care Unit information: The unit has 44 beds. There are 95 staff members. Staffing includes charge nurses, registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, and a health unit coordinator. Patient ratios are 4:1 at grid and 5:1 stretched. Equipment utilized includes IV pumps, patient lifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, and trachs. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Typical procedures performed on this unit include: Neuro and spinal checks. C-Collar placement and TLSO brace application. Chest tube management, PCA pump operation, and IV infusions. Lumbar drain placement and feeding tube insertion. Blood transfusions. The best personality fit for this role is a team player who is patient-focused. Floating areas include stepdown units and med-surg units. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Position creation reason: Contractor Replacement.
