Qualifications: Doctoral degree. Unencumbered NE or Multistate RN license and APRN-NP license. Experience in community relationships with good interpersonal relations. The Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator should encourage an environment that facilitates mutual respect and accountability, while demonstrating professional behavior. In addition, the Clinical Coordinator should have the following knowledge/ abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, faculty and clinical agencies. Experience with community relationships with good interpersonal relations. Proficiency with computers and standard office applications (Outlook, Word and Power Point). Functions of this position include: Teach FNP Practicum courses within the DNP program Manage DNP student vaccination records in the Typhon Clinical Tracking System. Manage clinical affiliation agreement requests for DNP students. Coordinate clinical sites/preceptors in multiple states to assist DNP students in clinical placement. Perform other functions as outlined in the NMC Employee Handbook. Skill in communicating with students and challenging them to go beyond what is required. Effective course implementation through the use of a variety of instructional methods, as appropriate, to foster an environment to stimulate student interest and pursuit of learning. Integrity, open-mindedness and objectivity in presenting material. Ability to relate the subject to other areas of knowledge. Collaboration with other faculty in the development of curriculum. Systematic assessment of student learning. Provision of constructive feedback in a timely manner to students to foster professional development. Punctuality and reliability in conduct of classes. Individuals with a Master’s degree in a related field may be appointed where a Master’s degree in the primary area of teaching is extremely limited or impossible to attain.
