Job Description:


- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) *Every other weekend*
- Average Daily Census: 4
- Rooms: 13
- Beds: 10
- Patient Age Group: Neonates, Infants, Adults
- Staffing Ratio: 1:3 (Days, Nights, and Weekends)
- Floating Required: Within scope of practice
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Documentation System: Epic Required

Antepartum Care and Procedures Required:
- Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation)
- NST
- Reflex checks/edema assessment/clonus
- Sterile vaginal exam
- Triage of obstetrical patients
- Use of EFMCare of Patients with

- Asthma

- Malpresentations (breech, face, brow)
- Multiple Gestation

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Care Required:
- Adult cardiac arrest
- Infant/neonatal arrest
- Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams

Fetal Monitoring Responsibilities:
- Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- External Fetal Monitoring
- Internal Fetal Monitoring
- IUPC

IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Tasks:
- Administration of blood & blood products
- Drawing Venous Blood
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Use of infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring

Medication & Administration Knowledge Required:
- Anticoagulation therapy
- Antihypertensives
- Antiseizure medications
- Magnesium Sulfate therapy
- Pitocin
- Prostaglandins
- Terbutaline

Labor and Delivery Management Skills:
- Amnioinfusion
- Assist with high-risk delivery
- Assist with vaginal delivery
- Forceps/vacuum extraction
- Hemorrhage/shock
- Recover C-Section
- Sterile vaginal exam

Neonatal Care in Delivery Room:
- APGAR scores
- Baby Nurse (Baby Catcher)
- Collect cord samples
- ID/Security Banding
- Neonatal Resuscitation
- Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation

Postpartum Care and Procedures Duties:
- Breastfeeding Support/lactation support
- Foley catheter insertion/management
- Fundus/lochia/perineum care
- Use of Electric/Manual breast pump
- Wound case assessment/care

Postpartum Care for Patients with:
- C-Section
- Bladder Distension
- Couplet Care
- Multiple Births
- Postpartum Hemorrhage
- Pregnancy Induced Hypertension
- Vaginal Delivery

Professional Topics and Skills Required:
- Isolation Precautions/PPE
- Vaccine Administration

Experience & Qualifications:
- Years of Experience Required: 2
- Scrubs: Provided
- Scheduling Block: Requires every other weekend, prefers weekends only contract for 1 of 2
- Orientation Hours: 24
- Minimum of 1 year Acute experience.
