Position Summary

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) , you will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help residents improve independence and daily functioning.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as directed by the Occupational Therapist
• Assist residents with improving activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Follow physician treatment plans and therapy goals
• Document daily treatments and weekly progress notes in accordance with regulations
• Monitor and report patient progress to the therapy team
• Assist with discharge planning and caregiver education
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Help maintain a clean, safe therapy environment
• Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Active, unencumbered COTA license in South Carolina (required)
• Experience in a long-term care or rehab setting preferred
• Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Compassion for an underserved population
