Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Full Time

John Knox Village is seeking a caring, calm, and highly responsive Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at our leading Life Plan Community in Pompano Beach. In this vital role, you will provide emergency medical support to residents, employees, and visitors with professionalism, compassion, and efficiency.

John Knox Village is a not-for-profit Life Plan Retirement Community offering independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care to more than 1,000 residents. Our scenic 70-acre campus in Pompano Beach is conveniently located near major highways and transportation options.

As an EMT at John Knox Village, you will respond rapidly to emergency calls, assess medical situations, and administer appropriate first aid and emergency care. You will determine when transport to an emergency room is necessary, utilize medical equipment to evaluate injuries or illness, and complete detailed incident reports for all medical response calls.

Your ability to remain calm, communicate clearly, and act decisively will make a meaningful difference in the safety and well-being of our community.

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED
• State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license (must be maintained)
• Valid driver's license
• 2-4 years of related EMT experience
• Strong attention to detail and accurate note-taking skills
• Ability to manage stressful situations and multitask effectively
• Ability to sit, stand, and patrol for long periods
• Ability to lift and push at least 50 lbs, with stamina to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English
• Outstanding communication skills, including two-way radio communication
• Ability to remain calm, courteous, and attentive at all times

Job Responsibilities:

• Respond rapidly to emergency calls following established emergency procedures
• Assess medical situations and perform physical examinations
• Administer first aid and emergency care to sick or injured individuals
• Determine whether emergency room transport is required
• Provide medical care in accordance with EMT certification
• Utilize medical equipment to assess injuries or illness
• Complete incident reports for all medical response calls
• Maintain professionalism, calmness, and compassion in all situations
• Perform other duties as assigned
