Telephone Technician

The Telephone Technician will be instrumental in advancing our regional educational community. Reporting to the Distance Learning Coordinator and collaborating closely with the participating school district leadership and all instructional staff, the Telephone Technician will create the conditions for student success in the classroom setting and as citizens in the future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitors and oversees phone services for regional school districts
• Assists school districts with internal phone systems, including support, integrations, and troubleshooting
• Liaison between phone vendors, districts, and the regional information center (RIC) for repairs and trouble tickets
• Assist school districts and BOCES in transitioning to new internal phone systems
• Assist with the development and execution of phone systems, ensuring they meet institutional standards and goals
• Knowledge of telephone systems and programs to configure and troubleshoot equipment in the region
• Installation of telephone communication equipment components
• Oversees the maintenance and recommendations of telephone equipment and programs
• Monitor the performance and progress of telephone systems and equipment, making necessary improvements.
• Maintains inventory of phone equipment and lines
• Audit telephone vendor billing to ensure accurate costs
• Build and maintain relationships with component districts, community organizations, and stakeholders to support and enhance telephone services
• Assists Distance Learning Coordinator with RFPs for additional phone solutions.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000

Civil Service Qualifications: Pending determination.

Position is anticipated to start in July 2025.
